What is a QR code?

Modified on Thu, 11 May, 2023 at 4:59 PM

QR codes are machine-scannable images that can instantly be read using a smartphone camera.

Each organization that subscribes to the Newsie app will receive a unique QR code, which links directly to the Newsie app in the Google Play or Apple store. When scanned by a user, the link detects which type of phone the user has and directs them to the appropriate app store.

When an organization shares their unique QR code, and the app is downloaded using that QR code, their logo is permanently displayed on the primary sub-header position and links directly to their listing page. Getting more downloads enables the organization to unlock Rewards & Prizes, such as linking their logo directly to an offer or website.

Furthermore, if a user who downloads the app using their QR code shares an event or story and it results in a new download, their logo will remain in the sub-header position.
